If you look up Dr Harari’s CV on the UCLA website, you will see that her background, her qualifications, her capabilities and her successes are exceptional. What it it will NOT tell you is that Dr Harari is one one of the kindest, most understanding, most patient, and most caring doctors you are ever likely to meet
At age 82, and not having faced surgery since a small sinus problem in my 20’s, I was very concerned and apprehensive : parathyroid problems were making life very miserable, and supported by my superb primary care physician, I began the search for a solution – surgery was the obvious (and probably with hyperparathyroidism the only) answer.
To bypass some unfortunate difficulties, let me jump to saying that Dr Harari was a third opinion. What a blessing. Through her consultations and extended biopsies ordered by her, Dr Harari’s thoroughness established that in addition to the parathyroid problem, the thyroid itself needed surgery. Its problems had been missed by previous consultations.
The surgery itself was amazing ..I had virtually no pain at the incision site, and the scar is all but invisible. My life is back to normal. Dr Harari’s monitoring, her follow up and her kind and personalised approach throughout everything add up to one thing – if you are fortunate enough to meet and then have been be treated by Dr Harari you will have experienced greatness in medicine.
